A safra de cereais, leguminosas e oleaginosas do país deve fechar 2018 com queda de 5,5% na comparação com as 240,6 milhões de toneladas do ano passado – número recorde.
Segundo previsão de novembro feita pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), a produção deste ano deverá ficar em 227,3 milhões de toneladas.
A previsão é 0,1% superior a feita pela pesquisa de outubro do IBGE. A queda da produção de 2017 para 2018 deverá ser puxada principalmente pelo milho (-17,8%), arroz (-5,6%), feijão (-9,8%) e sorgo (-5,4%). A soja, com uma alta de 2,6%, deve evitar uma queda mais acentuada, assim como o algodão herbáceo (28,6%) e o trigo (34%).

Além dos grãos, o IBGE também analisa produtos importantes para a agricultura brasileira, como cana-de-açúcar, café e laranja.
