Policiais Militares Ambientais de São Gabriel do Oeste realizavam trabalhos de inteligência no final de semana, em razão de denúncias de pesca predatória no rio Coxim e, na região conhecida como Pesqueiro do Dedé, foram avistados dois infratores em uma embarcação usando tocas ninjas para não serem identificados, praticando pesca com João-bobos (boias – petrecho proibido), durante a piracema.
Quando os policiais, que estavam à paisana, iriam acionar uma viatura da PM para fazer o flagrante, um dos infratores possivelmente reconheceu um dos militares e foi com o barco para a margem do rio e fugiram pela mata. Durante a fuga, lançaram peixes e uma saca, que não foi encontrada, mas que estaria com redes de pesca (petrecho proibido).
Antes da fuga, os pescadores ainda tentaram afundar a embarcação, para não deixar vestígios que pudessem identificá-los. A equipe conseguiu resgatar a embarcação, o motor de popa de 40 HPs e 20 boias (João-bobo), além de um aparelho de celular pertencente a um dos infratores. Diligências foram efetuadas pela região, porém, mesmo com apoio de outra equipe da viatura, não foi possível prender os criminosos.
Apesar das tocas ninjas, os pescadores já estão sendo identificados, com a apreensão do aparelho de celular e o motor de popa. Eles responderão por crime ambiental de pesca predatória. A pena para o crime é de um a três anos de detenção. Também receberão multa administrativa de R$ 5.000,00 cada um.
A PMA continuará em fiscalização preventiva durante esta piracema, fundamental para evitar a depredação dos cardumes, especialmente com uso desses tipos de petrechos ilegais que têm alto poder de captura.
