A bandeira tarifária para janeiro de 2019 será verde, sem custo adicional para os consumidores. Segundo a Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica (Aneel), a estação chuvosa está propiciando elevação da produção de energia pelas usinas hidrelétricas e do nível dos reservatórios.
Em dezembro, a bandeira tarifária também foi verde.
O sistema de bandeiras tarifárias foi criado para sinalizar aos consumidores os custos reais da geração de energia elétrica. A adoção de cada bandeira, nas cores verde (sem cobrança extra), amarela e vermelha (patamar 1 e 2), está relacionada aos custos da geração de energia elétrica.
A Aneel alerta que, mesmo com a bandeira verde, é importante manter as ações relacionadas ao uso consciente e combate ao desperdício de energia elétrica.
