O Festival Paralímpico realizado nesse sábado (22.9) em Mato Grosso do Sul e mais 47 cidades do Brasil, movimentou os centros esportivos do País em comemoração ao Dia do Atleta Paralímpico. Segundo o Comitê Brasileiro (CPB), pelo menos sete mil crianças, de 10 a 17 anos, puderam ter a experiência na prática do esporte adaptado pela primeira vez.
Em cada um dos 48 núcleos escolhidos, três esportes foram colocados à disposição de crianças com e sem deficiência, com a intenção de familiarizar o maior número possível de jovens com o Movimento Paralímpico.
Em Campo Grande o evento aconteceu no ginásio e no pátio da Unigran Capital, que recebeu 150 crianças. A cerimônia de abertura contou com a presença da Liga do Bem, que animou a festa do esporte integrado. As modalidades esportivas apresentadas foram: badminton, vôlei sentado e o goalball.
Em Dourados, a 225 Km de Campo Grande, o evento ocorreu no clube Indaiá. Os jovens puderam experimentar as três modalidades oferecidas: atletismo, basquete em cadeira de rodas e a bocha.
O movimento paralímpico aconteceu simultaneamente em 48 cidades dos 26 estados brasileiro, mobilizando 240 contratados, 2.400 voluntários e 7.200 crianças atingidas. As celebrações foram organizadas pelo Comitê Paralímpico Brasileiro (CPB).
No Estado, o evento teve a parceria da Fundação de Desporto e Lazer de Mato Grosso do Sul (Fundesporte), Secretaria de Estado de Educação (SED), Secretaria Municipal de Educação (Semed), Unigran Capital e Agência Municipal de Transporte e Trânsito (Agetran).
