Exposições comemoram 100 anos da emancipação política que eleva Campo Grande à categoria de cidade

Campo Grande comemora, neste ano, 119 anos de fundação como município e ainda 100 anos de emancipação política tornando-se, efetivamente uma cidade, um centro urbano. Em comemoração, a Secretaria Municipal de Cultura e Turismo (Sectur), por meio do Arquivo Histórico de Campo Grande (ARCA), em parceria com a Universidade Católica Dom Bosco (UCDB) promove exposições alusivas ao centenário. As mostras acontecem, a partir desta quinta-feira (19), na Galeria de Vidro da Plataforma Cultural e estão abertas ao público, com entrada gratuita.

A primeira exposição, denominada Retratos de Campo Grande – Ontem Hojerevela a cidade através de imigrantes da década de 1970. As obras contam, por meio de cores vivas, o progresso de uma capital que estava para nascer. Fausto Furlan, artista italiano, radicado em nossa terra, sendo pintor e coreógrafo nasceu em 1927 em Oderzzo (Itália). Ao chegar em Mato Grosso, depois de percorrer as grandes cidades brasileiras e países sul americanos e da Europa, escolheu Campo Grande para morar.

Outra exposição comemorativa ganha o nome de Campo Grande tem história. O projeto é realizado pelo curso de História da Universidade Católica Dom Bosco, sendo organizado pelo professor-mestre, Roberto Figueiredo tendo o apoio do professor Alex Azevedo. A mostra revela fotos antigas que integram o acervo do Arquivo Histórico de Campo Grande e as fotos atuais, de Roberto Figueiredo. Os textos surgiram a partir de pesquisas em obras do escritor e historiador, Paulo Coelho Machado e da professora-doutora Maria Augusta Castilho Marinete Pinheiro.

O Projeto tem como objetivo mostrar o desenvolvimento da cidade de Campo Grande mesclando fotos antigas, em sua maioria com mais de 70 anos e fotos atuais nos mesmos locais. O textos que acompanham as imagens contam algumas curiosidades completando os seis painéis de 5m x 2m.

Fotografias e pesquisa histórica

Uma das mais fortes fontes de pesquisa histórica são as fotografias. Com elas podemos perceber de maneira crua as mudanças físicas de um ambiente, sem máscaras, sem dissimulações.

 

Emancipação

Em 16 de julho, através da Lei Estadual nº 772 eleva-se a Vila de Santo Antônio de Campo Grande à categoria de cidade. No início do século 20, a Vila se emancipou como município em 26 de agosto de 1899 e foi elevada à categoria de cidade, há 100 anos, em 16 de julho 1918 passando a se organizar como centro urbano.

O apito do primeiro trem abriu para Campo Grande a possibilidade de transformar-se em centro socioeconômico e político do sul de Mato Grosso. A Estrada de Ferro Noroeste, inaugurada em 14 de outubro de 1914, deu início a um período de grande desenvolvimento. A construção da ferrovia provocou o afluxo de expressivo número de passageiros em trânsito e de migrantes. Casas comerciais, hotéis, bares e restaurantes foram abertos e os espaços de lazer passaram a ser mais valorizados.

Em 1930, Campo Grande já está dotada dos principais órgãos administrativos estaduais e federais, poder judiciário e outros serviços, entre eles agência dos Correios e Telégrafos, abastecimento de água canalizada, telefone e iluminação elétrica.

Na década anterior, o Governo Federal transferiu de Corumbá para Campo Grande o comando de Circunscrição Militar. Além de assumir o status de “Capital Militar”, a cidade é considerada capital econômica.

Tendo em vista a importância que adquire no contexto regional, passa a concentrar também as discussões sobre um antigo anseio, cuja origem remonta ao final do século 19: a divisão do Estado.
